Anyone from the community—including colleagues, supervisors, volunteers, and members of the public—can nominate an eligible emergency services member.

You may submit multiple nominations, but please submit one form per nominee to ensure fair assessment.

Yes. Repeat nominations are welcome. Please update achievements and impact for the current year to strengthen your case. Contact Us to resubmit your previous nomination
Eligibility FAQs

Nominees may come from recognised emergency services (e.g., Fire, SES, Ambulance, Marine Rescue, Police, and similar). See categories for full details.

Yes. Both paid staff and volunteers are eligible. The nomination should clearly describe contributions and outcomes.

Yes. The program recognises contributions within ACT, NSW and Victoria currently. (We are working hard to bring other states into the awards)

Provide concise examples, endorsements, and outcomes that demonstrate sustained impact and service above self.
Submissions FAQs

Deadlines are listed on the Nominate page. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

Edits are limited after submission. Contact the Secretariat promptly if you need a critical correction.

You may include brief attachments and links that substantiate claims. Keep materials focused and relevant.

Judging FAQs

Judges assess impact, service above self, leadership, innovation, and community benefit relative to the category.

Judges declare any conflicts and are recused from related assessments to maintain integrity.

Submissions are shared only with authorised assessors for the purpose of judging and administration.

Shortlisted nominees are notified following the assessment stages and timeline published for the current year.
Event FAQs

Yes. Details on ticketing will be shared with finalists and published publicly on each state website when available.
National Awards presentation is by invite only.

Smart cocktail or service uniform is appropriate unless otherwise advised.

Travel support may be available for finalists depending on sponsorship and budget. Details will be communicated directly if applicable.
